In October 2024, Penhaligon’s, a luxury British perfume house, hosted a private event at the NYC social club, Zero Bond. Guests were greeted with a beautiful layout of the Penhaligon’s various fragrances, a Photo Booth, bar, and arguably the *best* part: live hand engraving by myself and Alyssa Ahrens. From the floral arrangements to the perfume display placement, every detail was thoughtfully crafted by the event planning team and the engraving flow was no exception. This was an incredible private NYC event with live hand engraving.
From the moment guests were greeted, they were able to select their preferred scent with the assistance of brand experts and brought to the live engraving area. Each guest was provided a seat to receive an intimate engraving experience. Guests completed the personalization form with their name, requested engraving, and color wax fill. The selected scope for the engraving was name or initials. Guests hand selected each detail of the engraving and often asked me or Alyssa for our expert opinion. Some fragrance bottles have gold or silver accents, so many guests used the fragrance bottle colors to pick the wax fill color. Once each guest selected their personalizations, I began drafting the perfume bottle, engraved, and filled the bottle. So many guests recorded the different steps of the hand engraving process (and of course I forgot to get my nails done!).
Throughout the night, guests and event staff were coming up to Alyssa and me to say how mesmerized they were watching our live engraving. One of my favorite reactions is when guests realize the live engraving is truly live and they will have their completed engraved perfume ready to take with them in minutes. I absolutely loved being part of this private NYC event with live hand engraving.
